What does AAKG stand for? AAKG stands for Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate. What is the difference between l-arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate? L arginine is simply another name for the amino acid, arginine, which is a semi-essential amino acid. This means that it is not just found in foods, but also produced by the human body – in this case from glutamine via citrulline. The body uses arginine to produce biochemicals, enzymes and proteins. AAKG, on the other hand, is a salt of the amino acid arginine and alpha-ketoglutarate, which have been bonded together. The two are often coupled and offered in nutritional supplements such as pre-workouts. Many forms of arginine have been produced in order to improve effectiveness and absorption. Our AAKG is different to many 1:1 forms on the market as it offers AAKG with a ratio of 2:1. This means that our arginine alpha-ketoglutarate is made from two arginine molecules attached to one molecule of alpha-ketoglutarate. Which foods are high in arginine? Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid, which means that it can be found in your diet. Foods which contain arginine include meats, seafood, nuts and seeds, whole grains, and dairy amongst others. Arginine can also be found in numerous protein supplements in varying quantities. Zoe ★★★★★

Mixed it in water this morning before lifting and the powder dissolved clean with no clumps, which I wasn’t expecting from an unflavored amino acid. Feels like a solid way to get arginine in without swallowing another handful of pills, and the alpha-ketoglutarate pairing makes sense to me after read

Thomas ★★★★★

Took it about 30 minutes pre-workout and noticed a solid pump during my arm session, no stomach issues at all. The scoop dissolves fine in water even though it's a big dose, which is more than I can say for other arginine powders I've tried.

Sofia ★★★★★

The powder mixes cleanly with just a spoon, no clumps left at the bottom of my shaker. I've been adding it to my post-workout drink for two weeks now and the unflavored taste barely registers, which is exactly what I wanted.
